Job Title: Mortgage Loan Officer (Residential/Commercial)

Job Description: Lone Star Mortgage is looking for team players that are looking for a career opportunity with an up and coming residential/commercial lending company in Amarillo. Our residential/commercial mortgage loan officers are in a commission driven environment as outside sales reps. We are seeking experienced mortgage loan originators in Amarillo with strong sales and organizational skills. Applicants must have established local business referral partnerships. Bi-lingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications/Job Experience:
- Must have mortgage origination experience with an emphasis on prime lending and purchase business.
- Must have the ability to meet production standards (to be discussed later based on applicants proven previous production).
- Must be able to establish relationships with local referral partners (e.g., realtors, builders, CPA’s, financial advisors, attorneys, and other referral sources).
- Current local mortgage experience is required.
- Must be able to assist customers on weekends and evenings
Skills/Competencies:
- Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain programs, loan terms, features, policies, and benefits to customers/business partners.
- PC Skills including Microsoft Office, mortgage application software, and the ability to use Database Marketing
- Good Customer Service Skills
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry and mortgage loan structuring
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/sit/walk for 6-8 hours a day
- Ability to operate a moving vehicle or have access to transportation
Education:
- High School Education or equivalent
- Must be able to pass State Licensing Class to obtain loan officer license
Preferred Skills:
- Mortgage Broker experience, or previous experience working for a broker
- Previous experience working in a commission driven pay scale.
